Day Programs. Two
Behavior Day Training Programs located in Alhambra California serve multi-handicapped
adults who exhibit behavior problems that require intensive behavior modification
techniques and a high staff to client ratio (1:3) to develop prevocational, vocational and
community integration skills. Training in these areas is conducted both in a
facility-based environment and in a wide variety of community settings. After an
intervention period, participants are usually able to participate in less intensive day
programming and integrate into their local community with less and less restrictions.
Adult Day Program. This program serves
adults who do not exhibit the frequency and/or severity of behavior deficits that require
the more intensive staff to client ratio of the Behavior Management Programs. The Adult
Day Program is staffed at a 1:4 ratio and develops skills in the areas of vocational
training, community access and integration, money management, personal and social
adjustment, orientation and mobility, assistive technologies and functional academic
including Braille instruction. The training is provided in community settings and in
center-based classrooms and
workshop facilities.
